THE GOAL is very simple. a project that exceeds your dreams with as few bumps as possible.
We understand high-pressure careers & multi-generational family demands. We want you to spend your vacation time beachside rather than on a construction site.
Carol Lang Interiors provides a customized, thoughtful strategy for each project to make the most of your space and time.

Principal designer, founder, wallpaper enthusiast, performance fabric expert, wrangler of boys, and life-long learner.
I'm Carol, a mom and executive with 20 years of interior design and construction experience. With my husband Matt and our three sons, James (14), John (12), and David (10), I live in Fair Haven, NJ - a small town on the Jersey Shore between Rumson and Red Bank, in Monmouth County, NJ.
Our family's life is full with demanding careers, school, sports, volunteering, family, travel, and friends. While I wouldn't have it any other way, I do understand how you're juggling it all, too.
I came to design as an early second career. At Hamilton College, I double majored in International Politics and Chinese and minored in Economics. After a brief stint as a business strategy consultant for a boutique international firm, I switched gears to refocus on the built environment. As someone who values education, I went back to school for an MFA in Interior Design from Pratt Institute. After graduation, I worked for almost a decade at Gensler as a designer & project manager, leading global accounts and honing strong design & leadership skills alongside nationally recognized experts.
My unique background of liberal arts + business consulting + design allows me to speak client, contractor & design fluently and translate between all three languages.
I'm a professional member of ASID, NCIDQ Certified, and a licensed interior designer in the state of NJ. I continue to invest in learning and growth in order to bring the best of the best to my clients.

THE GREAT OUTDOORS
Associate designer, furniture & sourcing expert, historical house lover, and pattern aficionado.
Liza came to Carol Lang Interiors from the wholesale and editorial side of the furniture and design business, where she spent years developing deep expertise in furniture and styling as the content and merchandising lead for a large global brand.
Liza's keen eye and ability to navigate through trends to find timeless classics has added to the depth of CLI's offerings and she is a walking resource library. If Liza can't find it, no one can!
Liza's dog, Tilly, is our favorite tester of rugs and fabrics for durability and pet-resistance and 8 year old David Lang's most requested office visitor.
Liza is a graduate of the University of Vermont, from which she holds a BA in sociology. She has traveled extensively, worked in art galleries, in marketing for educational games and toys, and then six years on the wholesale and editorial side of the furniture business. She now leads our sourcing and presentation work and her intelligence, kindness, and integrity allow her to step into any role with ease.
Though she moved to NJ sight unseen in the middle of a global pandemic, she has now settled into home in Rumson, NJ. Her out-of-office time is spent attending myriad showers and weddings, walking Tilly on the beach, and hanging with her husband, James, and almost 2 year old daughter Reese.
my favorite part of my job? seeing if you love what we sourced as much as i do!
